Just So You Know

The CFL has fined Eskimos Sean Fleming, Mike Maurer and William Loftus an unspecified amount of money for comments "disparaging" to the league. This stems from the controversy surrounding the holding call on Maurer which negated a game winning last second kick from Fleming against the Riders Friday.

Unbelievable!!!

One can only wonder what will happen now seeing Eskimos linebacker AJ Gass has gotten his one game suspension overturned by an independent arbitrator. Read the following story to see what happened...

As for the CFL, they are responding in this fashion

The Eskimos Wait

Danny Maciocia and several of his players wait in limbo down in the hallways of Mosaic Stadium.

A.J. Should've Been Gassed! (From Tonight's Game)

Sitting at my desk just hours prior to tonight's opening kick-off, I am convinced the Eskimos went out of bounds in keeping one of their own stars in tonight's lineup. The fact linebacker A.J. Gass gets to play tonight, after the CFL suspended him and already rejected his appeal, is laughable. Going to an independent arbitrator is clearly a sign of desparation from the Evil Empire which knows it quite simply doesn't have the horses to compete tonight.

Gass Defends Latest Appeal

2:51 minutes (1.3 MB)

A.J. Gass tells a throng of reporters why he went outside of the CFL to appeal his suspension.

Maciocia Not Worried About Noise

7:14 minutes (3.32 MB)

Eskimo coach Danny Maciocia says Mosaic Stadium gets loud, but thinks his players should be used to it.

The Eskimos Will Have Gass

Eskimos middle linebacker AJ Gass will suit up for his team on Saturday night. Despite having his one game suspension upheld by the CFL office on Monday, Gass can take the ruling to an arbitrator and that is what he's doing. It means Gass can strap on the helmet for Saturday's game.
