It's a battle the coaches are watching closely. Who will be the starting running back for the 2010 saskatchewan Roughriders?
Wes Cates is looking to bounce back from an injury plagued season last year which he says was humbling.
"I definitely have to prove to those doubters that I'm not done. Also prove to myself that I still have fuel in the tank and that I'm ready to go for a few more years."
Hugh Charles is also in the mix after an impressive year which saw him take over for a bit when Cates went down. His workout plan in the off season allowed him to build some leg strength which has translated to a quicker step on the field.
"Hopefully the fans will see a different me...especially with this new number( he now wears #21 instead of #38). I think it makes me look a little faster too (big smile)."
Head coach Ken Miller likes what he sees so far.
"I think I have an idea as to where they stand. We'll use the pre season games to make those final decisions and really get a better evaluation."
Day 6 of training camp starts tomorrow (fri) morning at 9:15am
