The Saskatchewan Roughriders have scheduled a news conference, after a morning report suggesting slotback Jason Clermont was on his way home to Regina.
The Globe and Mail reports the free agent told other teams he's decided to sign with the Riders. Born in Regina, Clermont played high school ball for Robert Usher, and junior and university football with the Rams. He's spent seven seasons with the B.C. Lions, winning Rookie of the Year in 2002 and has been named Outstanding Canadian twice.
News Talk Radio will have live coverage of the Riders' news conference at 2 p.m.

My question is if Wray
My question is if Wray Morrison and Mitchell Blair call themselves sports reporters yet they can't even be the ones that break a local storey on a local athelete? Get new jobs guys. It seems all you ever here about in sports on this station and website is recycled from somewhere else all the time.
Nice X-mas gift for Rider Nation!!!
When I heard this last night I was super excited. Looking forward to having JC in Rider Green. He is a class act and a hell of a football player. The Riders, the community and his family are all better for Wally's gift.
What is truely amazing is the Saskatchewan content on the Riders, none of them are "hometown" spots either. Speaks volumns about football in the province at all levels.
Clermont a Rider
Better late than never! I don't think any D is going to want to play against Fantuz and Clermont underneathe! The second edition of Elgaard and Fairholm? I thinking YES!!
I wonder if Jason will allow
I wonder if Jason will allow his family to go to Rider games now. When he was a Lion he felt the Rider nation was an embarassment and would not allow his family to go to a game...
