Riders Golf For Charity

Then it's training camp time

It was a day for a great cause and to watch your favourite Saskatchewan Roughrider duff it up.

The 3rd annaul Rider Players' Golf Charity Classic was held at the Deer Valley Golf Course today (tue).  It's in support of Jesse's Journey for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and for the Regina and District Food Bank.

Players, coaches and alumni were on hand....including centre Jeremy O'Day.

"The players are awesome coming out in their last couple days of freedom.  It's been a good feeling to date raising about $15,000 dollars a year for those charities."

 

Riders Add Three More

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added three more players to the roster ahead of training camp.

They signed import defensive back Willie Byrd, non-import linebacker/long snapper Christian Houle and non-import defensive tackle Ryan Lucas.

Single game tickets go on sale

They arrived at Mosaic stadium in the middle of the night.

Kaylen Robinson and her friends showed up with toques and sleeping bags - guaranteeing their spot at the front of the ticket line.

“ It’s always really hard to get Labour Day tickets” she says, “it’s the first time we’ve ever lined up, but we’re really gung-ho about it”.

For most of the night they were alone, but at 6 a.m. more people started to join them. By 8 a.m. there were more than 30 people waiting to get their hands on the remaining single game tickets.

They go on sale June 1

Saskatchewan Roughrider fans will have their crack at single game day tickets come June 1st at 9am.

That's when the remaining tickets for the 2010 year go on sale.

In a release by the club, president and CEO Jim Hopson says with the teams high season ticket base, fans are encouraged to get their game day tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

As for season tickets and flex packs for 2010, the last chance to get your hands on those is Monday.

 

Riders Add A Couple Of Players

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed a couple of players ahead of training camp.

The club announced today the signings of import linebacker Byron Bullock and import defesive lineman Steven Riddick.

The 6 foot, 212 pound Bullock started all 11 games in senior season at South Dakota and finished the year with 59 defensive tackles.

 

Riders Release Two Players

Johnny Quin and Kevin Scott let go

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have released import receiver Johnny Quinn and non-import long snapper Kevin Scott.

Quinn posted the news on his Twitter account just before noon.

"I have been released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. I would like to thank my teammates, coaches & all Rider fans for everything".

Riders License Plates A Big Hit

More than 3,500 sold

You'll be seeing quite a few Saskatchewan Roughriders license plates in the province.

After SGI launched the plates to honour the team, more than 3,500 have been ordered.  Plates range in price from an extra $50 dollars and can also be personalized for another 75$ dollars on top of that.

All profits from the plates go straight to the team.

Jordan Sisco Looks To Crack The NFL

U of R receiver signs contract with the Colts

It's time for Jordan Sisco to show his talent to the Indianapolis Colts.

The University of Regina Rams receiver, and property of the Saskatchewan Roughriders,  signed a contract with the NFL club Monday which allows him to participate in workouts with the club leading up to training camp in June.

While the contract doesn't pay any money for the time being, Sisco says he was all smiles putting the pen to paper.
