Jimenez To Play This Week---And Next Too If He Can

The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that an arbitrator has ruled that B.C. Lions offensive lineman Jason Jimenez will be eligible to play in the West Final playoff game scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2007.  

Flick's Status In Question

Head coach Kent Austin isn't sure what the problem is but D-J Flick had to leave Friday's practice due to injury. Its believed Flick will accompany his teammates to Vancouver when they leave tonight.

3 POW's For The Riders

Kerry Joseph, Andy Fantuz and Luca Congi have been recognized by the league for their play in the Western semi-final victory over Calgary. Joseph was named the offensive player of the week with Fantuz getting top Canadian and Congi the special teams player nod.

Cates Has Broken Foot

Wes Cates will be a spectator both this weekend and next should the Riders advance to the Grey Cup. The Riders say Cates has a stress fracture in his foot and that the injury will prevent him from taking to the field again this season.

Appealing His Suspension

It has just crossed my desk that Lions offensive line Jason Jimenez has indicated he will appeal his one game suspension. Its not known when that appeal will take place but as it stands right now, it looks like he will play in the Western final.

CFL Suspends Jimenez

Heres the edict from the league office

The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that it has imposed a one-game suspension on offensive lineman Jason Jimenez of the B.C. Lions for Rough Play on an illegal block on defensive lineman Anthony Gargiulo of the Calgary Stampeders during the Saturday, November 3 game at B.C. Place Stadium.  This decision was determined following an extensive review process that included a formal hearing.
