Regina is set to receive official confirmation that Mosaic Stadium will host the 2013 Grey Cup.
The announcement will be coming from the Casino Regina Show Lounge starting at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Although Saskatchewan Roughriders president and CEO Jim Hopson is remaining elusive, but he did say the announcement will be good news for the team and the province.
Regina has hosted the 83rd and 91st Grey Cup games in 1995 and 2003 respectively.
President of the 1995 organizing committee Bob Ellard says Regina’s Mosaic Stadium is an ideal place to host the Grey Cup.
“It’s a very intimate stadium when you get 50,000 people in it,” said Ellard
Attending the big announcement is Premier Brad Wall, mayor Pat Fiacco, CFL commissioner Mark Cohon, and Riders officials Roger Brandvold and Jim Hopson.
Thursday’s announcement will confirm when the game will be played in Regina, either November 17 or 24 of 2013.
