Update on found remains

The investigation continues this hour east of the city.

RCMP say some sort of remains were found Tuesday night.

An anthropologist was called out, Wednesday, to help determine if the remains are in fact, human.

Police tell us they are combing through the area for clues.

Possible human remains found east of Saskatoon

 Saskatoon RCMP are investigating may be the remains of a person in the RM of Corman Park east of Saskatoon.

Charges laid in Regina teen's death

Two men appeared in Regina court this morning to face charges relating to a Regina teen's death.

Bobby James Clive Lavallee, 21, and Carlton Jonathon Rope, 25, both face charges of second degree murder of a 16-year-old male. The body was discovered on Saturday in Regina's north central neighbourhood.

The victim's grandmother, Linda Oakes, says she's always known her grandson to be well behaved. He loved basketball and loved his baby sister dearly, even getting her name tattooed on his wrists.

Fraud continues to spread in Saskatoon

It appears a rash of pin pad debit and credit card frauds in Saskatoon is continuing.

But police say it's getting harder for criminals to get your bank information, because local businesses are finally starting to be vigilant about the scam.

Police spokesperson Alyson Edwards sasy in two recent cases, potential scammers were caught in the act by employees.

"The acts were interrupted and the suspects fled. It is good to know that employees and businesses are being vigilant and they know a little bit more, perhaps, now about what to watch for."

Young offender escapes Paul Dojack Youth Centre

Regina police are looking for a young offender who escaped from the Paul Dojack Youth Centre on Sunday after allegedly becoming violent. Seventeen-year-old Steven Albert McCauley was last seen walking east from the centre. Police weren't able to locate him. Officers came to the centre after being called at about 3 a.m. on Sunday when they learned an inmate had used violence to get away from the facility. The Regina Police Service was authorized by a provincial youth court judge to release McCauley's photo.

String of car vandalisms strike Saskatoon neighbourhood

There was likely a group of very unhappy car owners in Saskatoon Friday. Just before one in the morning police received a slew of calls from residents in the 600-900 blocks of Avenues I, K and L South. They reported hearing glass breaking and saw a suspicious vehicle in the area. Police arriving on the scene quickly learned that seven vehicles in the area had windows broken. Officers pulled over a vehicle matching the description and took a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old into custody. The teens are now facing a string of mischief charges.

Regina man charged in 3-year-old boy's death

Regina police have now charged a second person, Harley William Fraser Stueck, in the death of three-year-old Nylan Jordan George Clark, who was found in a van behind a house on Halifax Street.

Thirty-eight year-old Stueck is charged with criminal negligence causing death, indignity to a dead body and obstruction of justice. He made his first court appearance at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Officers pursue stolen truck on Highway 16

RCMP say they pursued a vehicle on Highway 16 early Tuesday morning because the driver matched the description of a suspect in a North Battleford stabbing.

An officer tried to pull over a suspected stolen truck on Highway 16 westbound towards Lloydminster, and police say it turned into a pursuit.

The suspect driver allegedly reached a speed of 150 kilometres, and police ended the chase. Officers further down the highway used a spike belt to stop the vehicle.

RCMP say they later ruled out any involvement by the driver in the stabbing.

Three teens arrested in Saskatoon for allegedly breaking into garage

Three teens are in handcuffs after allegedly breaking in to a garage on Saskatoon's east side Tuesday morning. It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Laycock Crescent in the Stonebridge area. Police say three suspects were seen rummaging through vehicles in the area, and then gained entry to the garage. The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding people to make sure their vehicles are always locked, and to avoid leaving money and electronics inside.

RCMP investigate stabbing in North Battleford

Battlefords RCMP members are investigating a grisly stabbing that took place Monday night. The Mounties were called to a home in North Battleford, where they found a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed in the face. He was sent to hospital in Saskatoon with serious injuries. Police say charges are pending but so far they haven't named a suspect.
