After months of speculation, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought in Brendan Taman.
The former Blue Bomber General Manager will replace Tony Playter as Director of Football Administration. The buzz around the league when Taman resigned from the Blue Bombers was Taman would be brought in by Saskatchewan as an heir apparent to General Manager Eric Tillman during Tillman's court case.
But Taman put to rest those rumours on his first day back in Green and White.
"That's not the case, I left to be a G-M in Winnipeg for a reason because I didn't want to be one anymore so I don't want Eric's job and I don't plan on taking it any time soon."
Taman comes to back to Saskatchewan after spending ten years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, with the last five seasons as the team's General Manager.
But this isn't his first time in Saskatchewan: from 1993-1996, Taman was Assistant Director of Player Personnel with the Roughriders.
Roughrider CEO Jim Hopson says they are thrilled to bring Taman back to Saskatchewan.
"When the search started to replace Tony Playter in our football operations department, Brendan's name was at the very top of the list."
Taman says he is looking forward to rejoining the Riders.

With such a ringing endorsement the first priority for the Riders new Director of Football Administration must be to order a very large quantity of paper napkins. We don't want to lose track of those inexperienced quarterbacks.
Its good to see Taman switch from blue to green. Hopefully the Riders will quickly elevate him to the GM position and let him build a competitive football team.

HHHhmmmm, Taman says he "doesn't want the job" but yet he is waiting in the wings for Tillman's departure wether guilty or not. Kinda like trying to hide an elephant in a fridge........
