The Saskatchewan Roughriders made five roster moves on Tuesday.

The Riders have signed non-import receiver Kolten Solomon and non-import safety Graig Newman. The also made a series of cuts as kicker Eddie Johnson, defensive end R.J. Roberts and linebacker Jeremiah Weatherspoon were released.

Solomon and Newman aren't new to the Roughriders. The duo both attended the 2011 training camp as junior players before returning to their respective teams.

Newman had an exceptional season with the Saskatoon Hilltops. Newman set a CJFL record with three interceptions in the Canadian Bowl as the Hilltops won their second straight national title.

Solomon was named a CJFL All-Canadian for the second straight season. In 2011, the Regina product had 35 catches for 802-yards and five touchdowns.

All three players who were released spent the majority of the season on the nine-game injured list with the Roughriders. Johnson's release follows an up and down season that saw rookie kicker Chris Milo cement himself as the team's kicker.
