The Saskatchewan Roughriders have discovered that Friday afternoon's heavy storm took a toll on the temporary seating put in place for November's Grey Cup.

It's not clear how extensive the damage is but a news release from the team states that "a number" of seats in the south end of Mosaic Stadium were impacted. The team stresses that so far it appears there was no structural impact, that only the seats themselves were wrecked.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders organization is refusing to give interviews so far.

The seats will be closed-off until contractors are able to assess the damage and certify that they're safe to use.

The Riders are directing people who bought tickets to their web site for futher updates.
